HBAR Ceo Confirmed XRP’s Role Explained

Hedera’s leadership made a point recently that’s easy to gloss over: Hedera sits alongside Ripple, Algorand, and a handful of other networks as a founding member of the same industry group. That detail matters more than it sounds.

Why cooperation beats tribalism

Crypto social media runs on tribalism. XRP holders argue with Hedera holders, who argue with Algorand holders, as if only one network can win. But the people actually building these networks are doing something different: sitting on the same standards council, coordinating instead of competing for a winner-take-all outcome.

The comparison worth remembering is the early web. Imagine if every website ran its own protocol and you needed a different browser for each one, one for shopping sites, another for news, another for banks. That would have strangled the internet before it got anywhere. What let the web scale to billions of users was shared, interoperable standards, not one site or one browser dominating everything.

What “founding member” actually signals

When a network’s leadership sits on a shared standards body with direct competitors, that’s a signal about where the real money is looking. Ripple, Algorand, and Hedera have different technical designs and different target markets, but none of them can plug into the existing financial system at scale alone. Banks, custodians, and payment processors don’t want to bet their infrastructure on a single chain winning a popularity contest. They want protocols that can talk to each other.

What this means for holders

If you hold XRP because you believe it wins by being the only survivor, this is worth sitting with. The realistic path for digital assets in institutional finance looks more like the internet: several protocols, connected by common standards, rather than one chain absorbing everything else. That doesn’t make XRP less useful. It reframes the case for owning it around interoperability and liquidity rather than around eliminating every competitor. The networks that get to that shared table early, XRP among them, are the ones positioning for that outcome now.
