Hedera Rebrand, Charles Adkins & Council Structure

Hedera unified its ecosystem under a single brand structure in 2026 and brought in new leadership as part of the change, including Charles Adkins, a move the network announced through an official press release rather than a blog post alone.

What Changed

The PRNewswire release announced a unified brand structure across the Hedera ecosystem, consolidating what had been a somewhat fragmented set of entities, the Hedera network itself, the Hedera Council, and various foundation and marketing arms, under one coherent identity. Hedera’s own blog post on the change frames it as a new era for how the ecosystem presents itself, and the Hedera Foundation site now reflects the updated structure.

Why Brand Structure Actually Matters Here

This might sound like a marketing exercise, but for an enterprise-facing network like Hedera, a fragmented brand is a real friction point. When a bank or a Fortune 500 company is evaluating whether to build on Hedera, they are also evaluating who is accountable for the network’s direction, who governs it, and where to go for support. A confusing structure with multiple overlapping entities makes that evaluation harder. Consolidating under one brand, with clearer leadership named publicly, is a governance signal as much as a marketing one.

What This Means for Hedera

The Hedera Governing Council has always been one of the network’s differentiators, a rotating group of large enterprises and institutions overseeing the network rather than a single founding team. A cleaner brand structure makes that governance model easier to explain and easier to verify from the outside, which matters when the network’s pitch to institutions is built on credibility and accountability. Whether this rebrand changes anything about how Hedera actually operates day to day is a separate question, but making the structure legible to outsiders is a prerequisite for the institutions Hedera is trying to attract.
