Quant’s Overledger update adds NFT support across Ethereum, Polygon, and XDC
Quant’s Overledger 2.2.12 release added QRC-721, a non-fungible token standard built into Overledger Tokenise, the company’s API for creating and deploying tokens across multiple chains. The release notes are explicit about scope: QRC-721 tokens can be deployed onto the Ethereum, Polygon, and XDC mainnets, and they function like their Ethereum counterpart, ERC-721, using the same definitions and structure.
Why a multi-chain NFT standard is the point
Quant’s entire product, Overledger, exists to let one API talk to multiple chains instead of forcing developers to build separate integrations for each network. QRC-721 extends that same idea to NFTs specifically: a developer building on Overledger can deploy the same token structure to Ethereum, Polygon, or XDC without rewriting the underlying logic for each chain. That’s a meaningfully different value proposition than a single-chain NFT platform, since it removes the choice of which chain from the deployment decision.
What this means for XDC specifically
Interoperability tools like Overledger expand where assets built on a given network can actually move and be used. For XDC, being one of three mainnets supported in this specific release keeps it in the same technical conversation as Ethereum and Polygon for token deployment, which matters more for XDC’s positioning than for XDC’s price. It’s a liquidity and integration story, not a valuation one.
