Tokenized U.S. Treasuries are now live on the XRP Ledger, through Ondo Finance’s OUSG product, and this one is easy to verify because the parties involved published it directly.
What actually launched
Ripple’s own announcement confirms tokenized treasuries went live on the XRPL. Ondo Finance’s companion post describes bringing its tokenized U.S. Treasuries product, OUSG, to the XRP Ledger with mint and redeem functionality routed through Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin. Ondo’s OUSG page provides the underlying product detail: it’s a fund built to give investors exposure to short-term U.S. Treasuries in tokenized form, with the tokenization layer letting it settle and move on-chain instead of through traditional fund administration rails.
Why mint and redeem through RLUSD matters
The detail worth sitting with is the mint and redeem mechanism running through RLUSD specifically. That means an investor can move between a stablecoin and a tokenized Treasury product on the same ledger, without leaving the XRPL ecosystem to do it. That’s the kind of frictionless on-chain to real-world-asset bridge that tokenization advocates have talked about for years, and here it’s a live, named product rather than a roadmap item.
Why this matters for XRPL liquidity
For the XRP Ledger, a real tokenized Treasury product changes what the network can be used for. It’s no longer just a payments and remittance rail, it’s a place where institutional-grade, yield-bearing collateral can sit and move. That gives XRPL a clearer role in capital markets infrastructure, from issuance through settlement, which is the same shift regulators and central banks have been tracking globally. The broader research trail here includes the BIS bulletin on tokenising government bonds, the SEC’s public statement on tokenized securities, and the U.S. Treasury’s TBAC discussion of digital assets and the Treasury market, alongside reports from IOSCO, the RBA’s Project Acacia, a Federal Reserve speech from Governor Waller on payments, and an IMF note on tokenized finance. That’s a wide spread of regulators and central banks paying attention to the same trend at roughly the same time, which is itself worth noting.
